We Are Governed by the Rule of Law

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court said Presidents enjoy absolute immunity from prosecution for actions they take within their core function as president. "The Constitution gives the president the unilateral power to issue pardons, no matter what Congress says, even if Congress purports to criminalize that act," said Heritage Senior Legal Fellow Zack Smith. "The Constitution gives that power to the president so that they cannot be criminally prosecuted for exercising it."
