US Ship Has Encounter With Russian Vessel in Middle East

The U.S. Navy says one of its ships was “aggressively approached” by a Russian navy vessel in the North Arabian Sea, Friday, January 10.

A U.S. 5th Fleet spokesman said the USS Farragut was conducting a routine operation Thursday, when the Russian vessel passed by and narrowly missed colliding.

The U.S. destroyer warned the Russians by sounding its horn five times, a maritime signal for danger of a collision.
