Thousands Protest in Pakistan in Support of Kashmir

Thousands of protesters in Karachi marched on Pakistan’s independence day to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir, Wednesday, August 14. Members of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other parties marched toward the city center to condemn what they said were atrocities committed by the Indian government on the Kashmiri people. Pakistan’s government has criticized India’s recent downgrading of Kashmir’s status from a state with some autonomy to two territories last week. (AP)
