Thousands Gather in Chile for Solar Eclipse
Thousands of people gathered in the Chilean Andes on Tuesday, July 2, to watch the solar eclipse.
Tourists joined some of the world’s brightest minds in astronomy in Coquimbo’s La Silla Observatory to observe the eclipse. Observatories around the world have also supplied specialist equipment to their teams to capture and investigate the phenomena.
Scientists will be paying particular attention to the solar corona, using state-of-the-art telescopes. (Reuters)
