Algeria Crowds Celebrate AFCON Victory
Tens of thousands of cheering crowds lined the streets of Algiers to welcome home the nation’s soccer team, winners of the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in their history, Saturday, July 20. Algeria won the Africa Cup of Nations for the second time, Friday, July 19, when a freak second-minute goal by Baghdad Bounedjah gave them a 1-0 win over Senegal in the final. (Reuters)
